but anyway, its either this Bargain or it's save up for something else...

You keep posting about all these different guitars - get a good amp first. I'm sure you've heard it here before, but really, just get a better amp.

The problem is if you buy 15 cheapo guitars (or whatever) then later in life when you have better equipment you've still got these cheapo guitars that sound (usually) dull and lifeless on the better equipment. Get one or two good guitars.....play lots......get good amp and you cat rock out at any volume or with any group of people regardless of what they own.

I somewhat understand how you feel.....I've looked at cheap guitars (and often bought) but there's the inherent risk of them being ****, or requiring so many upgrades you may well have bought a whole new axe from the word go. I've also got a core of good guitars to fall back on (Gibson SG, G&L s500, custom prs type guitar) if I get a dud.

Oh, I'm LH too, so I know how hard they are to find!!!

I would bid on it, it looks worth £100 anyway.

What amp do you have currently LHS? If you really do have something crappy then these guys are giving great advice, you need a decent amp before buying Squiers or Aria guitars.

I don't even own an amp myself.

Cheap modded guitars into a virtual pedal board into a virtual amp into a virtual cabinet. I can do rock, speed metal, death metal, whatever.

(Currently - Waves GTR pedals (noisegate/compressor and tube screamer overdrive), Pod Farm Pedal (chandler tube overdrive), Revalver Amp (6505), Recabinet cabinet.)

If you wanted to go cheap, there's plenty of free or almost free (Recabinet is $15) alternatives that are quite capable. Check out LePou's free plugins, he's made some GREAT amp sims and a cabinet simulator. There's a few free tube screamer plugins out there too. Run those in a cheap VST host (Reaper can be used for free, there's also Hermann Seib's free VST host) and rock out.

But ATM I'm eyeing up a Marshall Valvestate of some kind, I really like those things, expensive, I know, but I use them at college all the time, i know how to use one and look after one and to me, they are very good amps.

Its either a Marshall or a Peavey.

had another look on the Aria website... and although this thing is easily worth 100 GBP it's not worth it tbh..... it's a Vintage style tremolo... i thought it was more Floyd rose style.. so it's a no for me.

Valvestate amps are not expensive. They are low priced, but decent quality, you will certainly get one for your £170, you may even find a half stack with a 50 or 100W Valvestate head and a 4X12 cab for not much more than that if you look at the used market.
It will certainly be a whole lot better than the amp you are using just now.

yeah I might sell my Kustom DLA-10 (or something like that..) for a small amount, probably 15 or 20 quid, put it in the local paper ads and stuff, put the money towards a new amp.

I'll keep checking ebay and the local guitar shop, the guy gets some great secondhand stuff in and he seems to like giving me discounts....
