Was it sold to you as a 335 copy? Fully hollow guitars (e.g., ES-330, but usually with P90's) have a very different sound and feel to the ES-335, which has a large maple block running down the middle.

One thing the Gibson Co. is doing good nowadays is the Memphis ES-335's.

Say what you like about vintage vs new, but since the Custom Shop is handling these guitars now, the quality is stellar.

I scored my 2007 Gibson ES-335 in new condition for $1850, and would suggest that you go that route, if you're serious about buying one. With vintage, you don't always get something better, just older and more expensive. I like vintage stuff, but Gibson and Fender's Custom Shops are turning out some of the best work they've ever done.

That's a SC-HB switch. I used to have a 1980 ES 347. I bought it from Rudy's Music Stop in NYC in 1980 and I took it home to Argentina. It was stolen from the plane's cargo. I've got it for only three days.

inhareted from by great grandpa actually, i more or less refer to the body with the 335 part of it, i just never knew it was ply, i thought mine was just a cheaper way of making an archtop

There's a 1979 Gibson ES 335T currently on ebay going for $2595. ( If that helps. )
