H&K Tubemiester 36??

Ok, first... Yes, I did search! mentioned some, but no specific info for the 36.

Does anyone own the 36? Has anyone directly played one?? Thoughts??? How much gain does it have? Good sounding gain? Reviews have been good and online vids good. But sadly, they often use effects or otherwise.

Ive played a bunch of the new mini amps and so far my favs are the 5150 III and the Mesa. but I need more about this one...

Anyway, GJ. Is the midi controlled powerscaling stepless?
So instead of that standard DI,1W,5W,18W and 36W settings, could you program it to run on 24W (for instance)?
That is how I understood H&K.


I finally understand the Tube Safety Controls.... silly it wasn't mentioned in the manual (4 blinks or less etc.)

Did you get one Joe?? I remember you saying in the 18watter thread that it was def on your radar, but I dont remember seeing that you got one.. How is it? Good gain? plenty of gain at low volume?

Youve played with one though, right? (the tubemiester, I mean) my local GC only has the smallest one. Is the gain on the 36 good? marshall like or beyond?? Problem is, alot of these small amps sound thin to me. The mesa and the 5150 3 have impressed me most, but the 5150 is kinda a diff league . Also, I really like the egnater tweaker, but would like more gain or ballsy crunch. el84 amps that Ive tried thus far have kind of a limited tone to me.. ALOT of that is my playing limitations Im sure..

My TM18 sounds great with or without effects. And the 36 is, like, 18 louder, isn't it?

Bring an overdrive with you when you test them. Sometimes just a little push is all you need.

You have a house full of broken amps...

How about spend the money you'd dump on another new amp on repairs for some of the amps you have already??

Also since you don't gig I'd look into something smaller than 36 watts...I don't even gig with an amp that big and I still get told to turn down on a regular basis!

I plan to get my amp fixed before I buy anything else.. I do need a smaller amp for practice. (I WISH I had a place where I could practice with my 1/2 stack)
yeah the 36 is prolly overkill, but some of the smaller ones dont sound good to me.. Im just asking about this one anyhow.

The Tommy Thayer and MusikSchmidt demos are super impressive. Its about the only amp realistically I would consider spending the coin for at this time.
