Had a very good runthrough with the new Vox AC-15 head and cab

That was some amp and cab...the Anniversary series.....
I want one of those!!!
Sounds great on its own...takes pedals like no problemo...stuffed a few hotrods and specials in front of that one....
The Blue Alnico speaker is great....tried it with everything from Artcores Jazzers to strats and Teles.....and a some other things...simply great!
Covered alot of ground, simple and effective!

As a brand, Vox has really stepped up, not only in their bedroom amp modelers, but on the high end stuff as well.

I want another amp to play with, as usual, and I'm debating between another good Fender, to give some contrast to my British amps, or grabbing up one of those Anniversary Series Vox's. I wish I could do both! hahaha

Is that the wood cab model?

if it's close to the old ones, it's gotta sound good ... the best tone I've ever had was through a friend's old twin twelve AC15 ... it had the godly tone!

They make a 15w head too? I recently bought the cheaper new 15w Vox combo. I didn't try the handwired combo as I was afraid it would sound too good and the cheaper one sounds great as it is. The price difference is pretty big. But yes, the new voxes sound killer.

It was the hardwired head, and its matching cab.....both in tan tolex....the combo was alsmost as good, but the head and cab is where it happends!!
For that price....it is amazing plus it goes beyond that price and all that, good buildquality and all that, only thing I did not like was the knobs....only thing out of place!
But that is easy to replace
But tone, and then some!
Alot like those old ones, perfect for recording, imagine having four of those in a halfmoon formation.....uhu!

My next DIY project is going to be a AC-15-ish amp. Gotta hear an EF86 for myself.

one of the local stores had a JMI AC30 last time I was in, but I didn't ask how much it was ... another nice amp.

How do you suppose the 50th Anniversary AC-15 with the blue alinico compares tone-wise with that of the 50th Anniversary AC-30 with blue alnicos?
