Re: Hagstrom

Hags are very cool guitars, I sort of miss my old (middle 60's) Hag III but it went for a good cause and to a good place!

Anyway, on to Sweeds...they are kind of like LP's but they are their own beast as well, I have played several of the new ones and to be honest I've been pretty impressed with them for the money...give one a shot!

I should menion that the regular Sweed has no maple top, the Super Sweed however does...

Re: Hagstrom

Hagstrom makes a good guitar, always has. I still have an old Hag II and the neck is so sweet. I rewired it and by passed all the switches (never could figure out what they did), wired it like a Strat.

OK, the new ones, I had a chance to try a few out and I really liked the Super Swede. If you stay with their higher end, you won't go wrong.

I would like to ask Hagstrom WTF were they thinking with those ugly azz vinyl covered bodies back in the '60's

Re: Hagstrom

I'd love a new Swede - the all-mahogany regular model. When I first started playing in the 70's, the local music store had several of them hanging on the wall, way out of my financial reach. I've had the jones ever since.

I think all-mahogany LP style guitars are great, which only fuels the fire.

I think Larry Coryell played a Swede way back when.
