Hambucker hybrid from single coil humbuckers?

Hambucker hybrid from single coil humbuckers?

The Stag Mag is made from 2 single coils. But to me, the humbucker sound is not its strong point.

It's not but I always thought it's because it's too hot. Hence my interest in a sc "hybrid".

If instead of having 8+ each you had 7+5 which is a fine range for vintage sc.

FTR, I only have one in the neck and I use it SC 90% of the time.

And then there's a few that never seem to miss an opportunity to push HHH's...
Where?

In this discussion where HHH was raised in regards to whether magnetic fields were reshaped in such a way as to affect tone adversely (it doesn't)? No, there is no pushing of HHH here.

I hope you don't mean the recent discussion specifically asking for advice on how to load an Epiphone HHH LP. You know, the one you tried to crap on?

So, please blueman335, where is all this subversive pro-HHH zealotry?

The LesPaul black beauty with an HHH is alot of pickups jammed together, so how does this compare to having two single coils together in respects to their magnetic fields cancelling each other out? Just curious.
Is it because there is just a little space/distance between them as opposed to having two singles side by side?
Hhh lespauls are far enough apart not to interfear...

However the only 3 pup mini lespaul I ever played was the best lp sound I have ever heard.

Probably not spacing, I just like minihums.

+1. Mini-HB's should be a lot more common than they are, especially in the neck slot.

Oh oh, another diversion.

Finding a couple of cheap pickups to try this idea out might be worth it, just to experiment with. I've never heard them produce a sound (in series) that I like, but switching between them might be interesting. You could also test how the strings are affected by the magnets. It is all interesting to play with, but let me know if you come up with something cool.
