What is the Hameritis caused from? Is this the glue in the joint discoloring the laquer?

Gene, that is a beautiful guitar but that flaw is VERY distracting and I think his price is not reflective of it

It is a glue finish thing. Mid '90s thing on '94-'97 Hamers IIRC. I could ask someone more versed in the know about it. Other than a cosmetic thing it really is a non issue to most. I paid $1000 for mine in 2004. These one piece Mahogany '97s are rarer than the 100 piece run of Korina Standards in '96.
