How much can you get it for? BTW, its a Californian not a california. They seem pretty interesting.

Re: Hamer Users NEED HELP!!Hamer California H-S

I own one of these. Hamer Californian Made in USA. I bought this sometime back in '95 or '96. I can't tell you that much about it but it sure has the FASTEST playing neck i've ever played! Here are some of the features:

Mahogany Body, very heavy ( about 9-10 lbs.! )
Maple Neck
Ebony Fingerboard
27 Frets
OBL Rails Single Coil Neck, Slant Mounted
OBL Rails Humbucker Bridge (this will put all the distortion pickups out there to shame!!! This HB is LOUD!!! )
Original Floyd Rose Double Locking/Floating Tremolo Bridge Made by Schaller
Single Volume Knob
Schaller Tuners
3 Position Switch, S-Both-H
Pearl Inlays

Here are some old pictures i've taken a few years ago.

If the first digit of the serial number is correct, then it's either a 1986 or 1996 model. Theodie is correct, that number doesn't sound right. Look closely at the headstock...if it's made in the USA, it will say "Hamer USA," like the guitar in the picture above. If it's Korean, it'll just say "Hamer." American-made Hamers are some of the finest guitars money can buy.

That definitly sounds like a korean guitar.

All Hamer USA's will say usa in small letters next to the Hamer logo on the headstock.

If it's a USA model, I'd definitely consider.

If it's not, I wouldn't bother. Hamer's are good for asian guitars, but, still, asian guitars. (Nothing against Japan and others primarily made there)

The Hamer imports are fairly good. If it plays well for you, and the price is right...go for it.
