hamer vs. heritage

Re: hamer vs. heritage

my local shop carries Hamer...i've played quite a few of them...awesome feel!

that being said...those heritages have something about them that makes me want one and i've never played one...maybe it's the mystique of where they are made...i'd like to try one out one of these days!!

Re: hamer vs. heritage

Toss a coin.

I've owned both, and IMO you cannot go wrong with either. It really will boil down to aesthetics, and feel.

Re: hamer vs. heritage

I have a Heritage on order which should be complete in a few weeks. If it's anything like the other Heritage guitars I've played, it should be a well built killin machine. But I've played some Hamers that I've liked, as well. In the end, I'd have to go with Heritage.

If you are looking at getting a Monaco Elite - then in my opinion you will not go wrong as it is a great guitar and I can quite honestly say that you will not be disappointed if you get one. I own a Monaco Elite (tobacco sunburst - see the link in my signature) and a lot of people know how much I love Hamer guitars. There are two versions:

Monaco Elite Mahogany - features a Honduras Mahogany neck and body with a Rosewood fingerboard and MOP Dot inlays. The hand-carved arched Mahogany top is bookmatched in a "Chevron" Pattern. Has two 2 Seymour Duncan '59 humbucking pickups and is available in a cherry transparent, TV blond, vintage orange and 2-Tone Sunburst finishes.

Monaco Elite - features an arched, single cutaway Ivoroid bound body, neck and headstock. Measuring in at 24 3/4" in scale length, the neck and body is made of Honduran Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, Mother of Pearl Victory inlays and inlaid Mother-of-Pearl Hamer USA logo. A book-matched flame Maple top and Seymour Duncan Custom & Custom Custom humbucking pickups and is available in '59 burst, black, aztec gold, indigo and tobacco sunburst.

Here is one on e-bay:

Also head over to the Hamer Forum as sometimes there are people there who sell Hamer guitars at a lot lower price before they go on e-bay.
