I'm pretty sure neither of them have a tremolo circuit. Make sure you play a Reissue 100W plexi to see if it's appropriate for your situation. They're one of the loudest amps I've plugged into. Stage volume is 2 on those amps. You may be better off getting the 50W version and using a good OD pedal and/or Hotplate attenuator. Stevo gets great results with that rig.

GJ is correct...Neither the 1959 or the 1987 model Marshalls have tremolo...Agree also on an attenuator and a 50 watter....That hand wired Plexi is expensive as hell..

Is the difference between the 1959HW and a reissue plexi that great?
Yes. It's sort of like the difference between a 5 star meal and a Denny's. I wouldn't say the ri SUCKS, but I also wouldn't describe it as a top notch amp.
Didn't/doesn't Slash use the Jubillee 25/50?

It's not night and day, but *clearly* noticeable.
It doesn't have the bottom end or the presence of the orig. It just doesn't get the 'Plexi' growl or richness/complexity (quality) of tone that the orig. is so famous for.
He was fairly well-known for his choice of amps, the Jubillee didn't make that big of a splash among players but Slash seemed to favor them.

If you'd take the time to do the research that he requested, you'd uncover a really cool story about Slash's "Appetite" amp (hint: it wasn't his).
I'll give you a hint: someone fought "Tough & Nail" to buy that same amp from the recording studio. Slash even stole it himself, only to have his dumba** roadie bring it back accidentally.

Why spend alot of cash getting a hand wired Plexi or original plexi when a Marshall 2550 Jubilee can nail Slash's tone on Appetite for Destruction. I know he used some "magic" Marshall amp in the studio for that album, but I have played a Jubilee through a Vintage 30 loaded cab and it absolutely nails that tone.
Why spend alot of cash getting a hand wired Plexi or original plexi when a Marshall 2550 Jubilee can nail Slash's tone on Appetite for Destruction. Hell no man. The Jubilee made his horrendus live tone, not his classic Appetite tone. That was a Plexi that he rented that had the trem tube converted to a gain stage and had a post phase inverter master volume in it. Jubilees I never cared for at all.FuelGTRX said:

A "plexi" amp is an amp with a plexiglass control panel. Marshall stopped making them in 1968/9 and replaced them with metal control panels.
I'm pretty sure the "appetite" amp was a metal panel amp, not a plexi.Slash2987 said:
