Happy NAD to me! Joined the Mesa club.

So, after selling all my unused stuff, I knew I needed a combo that's a little easier to haul around than a 212 5150. Locally on CL, I found a Mesa Boogie DC-5, with road case. I had to snatch it up. I've always wanted a Mesa, note I know why. It's the sounds I wanted out of my Marshall stack, and it's a 112 combo!

Anyway, here's a pic! It's got options out the butt for outputs, plus silent recording mode. I paid barely more than I sold my 5150 for!

Is that one a 6L6 based 50 watter?

I think that the current Express series is the descendent of the DC series, is that right?

EDIT- Bill schooled me..the guy who sold the F50 to me was a big fat liar ;)

Great amps (regardless). Congrats.

The DC Series are some of my favorite Mesas. I have a DC-3. The successor to these is the three-channel Nomad Series. The F-Series has a completely different preamp. The DCs have a clean channel based on a Mark IV, and the Lead Channel rocks like a Recto.

Make sure you read the Owner's Manual thoroughly; you can download a copy from Mesa's website.

For most players, the DC-5 is one of those "Swiss Army knife" tools, just able to perfectly cover so many situations. It's a good score, and I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

I gigged one of those for a few years. Lots of great tones in that thing. And it made a seriously nice clean pedal platform. I play in a country band, so I didn't have much use for the 2nd channel, but it definitely rocked when I kicked it on at home!

I have the series before it in a .50 cal + head and a Subway Rocket 1/10 combo.
Here is a clip of the .50 cal this morning at Church with my stock 07 Custom 24 and running only a boss delay in the loop
Getting some really killer tones from my old .50 cal but how I wish I had the extra flexibility of that Dual Caliber!!!
The Boogies from that era were killers congrats on a nice score!

Doing a little tube rolling on this thing. A 5751 in V1, Telefunken Diamond Bottom in V2, and Toshiba NOS 12ax7's, and a 12at7 as a phase inverter. This thing is my new favorite of all time.

I loved my DC-5! Just was too over the top for me–loud loud loud indeed! My favorite part was the 5 way EQ, could really shape the tone with that thing!

Congrats and enjoy!

I'm kind of casually keeping an eye out for a DC-5 head case, so I can use this thing as a head if the mood ever strikes, but to buy a new one, it's like $300...
