Happy New guitar day to me

Browsing a local Facebook group last night, and these get posted up for a steal. I tell the guy I'll take the lot, and I picked them up this afternoon. The Strat is a Warmoth parts guitar, with some nice pickups in it that need identifying (more on that later), and a Jackson J100 XL bridge pickup. Steel block trem, and it's done up like a 50's Strat.

The second is an Old Kraftsman kooky guitar. This thing is just the kind of oddball I like. Pickups are about 5.5K, and it's a semi-hollow. Once I get the electronics cleaned, it ought to be a great guitar.

These are super cool, and I got them for a steal. Oh, he also included a little Crate amp and a tuner.

Now what you need is a cool littel vintage Marshalesque tube amp..say a YBA-2B Bassmaster :bigok:

Re: Happy New guitar day to me

Well, one of the pickups on the Kraftsman was dead, so I ordered a spool of wire, I have a sewing machine, and I'll be rewinding that pickup. It'll be my first foray, and I know the counter will be one of the "fun"parts...

That kraftsman looks mighty interesting! How about some more pictures? Heel, body close up and side, neck tell me everything you want to let loose?;)

I remember those Old Kraftsman guitars when they almost new! :bigok:

Weren't they made by Kay?

Are you sure it's not just a loose wire or something? If the sewing machine method doesn't work out, you could always send it to Seymour.

He rewound a mid-1930's Rickenbacker horseshoe magnet pickup for me and it sounded and looked exactly right when I got it back.

That Kraftsman guitar is the kind of thing I love too. I would totally kick out some Queens of the Stone Age with that.
