Harley Benton 2x12

Cheap plywood with voids should be avoided

I have seen 1/2 inch(12mm) and 3/4 inch (19mm) work very well

The 1/2 inch would of course be much lighter and feel flimsy but will be just as rugged as long as you use the right bracing

Does the Harley Benton have good enough low end? Will the Celestion V30 loaded 2x12 hold together with a dual rectifier and compare favourably to a Mesa with the same speakers?

Allot of guys used to use Marshall cabs with Celestion G12T-75 speakers with rectos back in the day.
G12T-75 have a scooped charecter. The V30 has a mid spike a giant honk. Dunno bought with a Mesa but I HATE!! them with a Marshall. For H speakers I think G12H-30 is much better than V30.
My favorite is G12-65 and in some case G12M-25

Aren't Mesa v30s the same as regular ones but with more doping on the cones?

It seems I heard that somewhere

There was a German guy Kohle or some such on YT

He was saying there was some difference in doping on the outer edge with the Mesa having a bit more by contract than the standard V30.

I agree it probably makes very little if any difference

Like some guys ( Fricker) said there was a dust cover difference in the early Chinese made ones that he claimed affected the sound. That may have been John Brown. Who shot out a bunch of various V30s

In the charts John showed on his video
There was some difference, but I didn't hear any audible difference in any clip of his.

I don't think there is much a tweak of a tone knob can't adjust for

And nothing an audience could detect

The only difference is the sticker on the back.
People believe what they want to believe.
There was a difference when Celestion first moved production overseas. Mesa noticed a difference (as many did) and wanted UK made V30s that sounded the same as they had been ordering. I don't think that is the case now though.

Huge difference in the Mesa heavy-dope UK V30, when compared to the early Chinese V30.
Mesa’s 2x12 cabinets were also deeper than most others, which certainly contributed.
