Harsh buzzing

So, I've been recently posting about some problems with my guitar after recently installing a new bridge pickup. Most of those problems are now fixed, until today. I come home after work, and go straight to my guitar, and I notice a harsh buzzing mixed with some crackling coming through my amp. Its fairly low profile, isn't too loud, but very annoying. Any ideas?

Re: Harsh buzzing

you didn't join a stoner or doom band, did you? That's a normal symptom.

How's your cable? any bad bends, cuts...kinks?

Re: Harsh buzzing

Here's what I can think of:
Output jack: check if it's still tight and the wires are in place
Ground wires of pickups/bridge/potis: one of the wires could have been damaged after working on your guitar
Cable: just like jon said
Effect pedals/tuner: check the power supply
hope that helps!

Re: Harsh buzzing

Hahahahahaha, that was a good one Jon. And no all that stuff is in order. I would take it to a tech but I really wanna figure this on my own. Im really damn stubborn.

Re: Harsh buzzing

I'd agree on the grounding thing. You may need to get back in there and cross all the Ts and dot all the Is again.
I've got to do that with my Godin. My kid overtorqued the neck volume knob and popped the hot wire off, killing the pickup. I had to take the whole thing apart to solder that stupid lug again, then strung it with nice new Cleartones...only to immediately find out my pot-tightening job wasn't so good and I popped the wire off again.

I'm sure you cared. :D Call it a bonding moment. hehehe

Alright so I re did it AGAIN
I really don't know what's going on, cause now there's a bunch of feedback and crackling when I play. I'm getting close to giving up. I'm starting to think its just my soldering. but the joints look fine, and everything is in the right place.

Re: Harsh buzzing

I really don't want to offend you...
But: did you check your amp?
I don't know what guitar you're using.
Do you have a metal pickguard? Grounded?

Another thing:
Defective potis cause crackling.
Maybe the darn things were overheated while soldering.

Well it's a lot of work but you could use an old guitar cable and cut
it on one side. Then connect it to the pickups one by one and
test them individually with an amp. (Pickups OK -> continue with potis)

This way you should be able to find the damaged part.

Re: Harsh buzzing

No actually I haven't checked the amp, but its been perfectly fine until I put that pickup. Someone did say something with the high output pickups and something with the amp. Can really remember, the amp is a Fender Mustang 3
