celestion loaded. you guys know anything about them?

Re: Hartke guitar cabs?

Had one. They're not "real" celestions, I believe rather, they are "Celestion Designed". I got fooled when i placed the order for mine. It said "Celestion Loaded" on the picture on the Website and it did list the speakers as such under description but when i received the cab it didn't say "Celestion" anywhere on the cab or in the manual. If you do some research you'll find they're Celestion designed magnets only. I kept the cab and swapped out the speakers for Emi's. The stock speakers weren't bad but they weren't what i was looking for and found there were better options out there. It's an ok design for a cab, I've seen better, I've seen worse.

Re: Hartke guitar cabs?

Being from NJ I've been surrounded by Harkte stuff forever...

Which guitar cab, specifically are you looking at?

Some of them did come with real celestions... never V30s I think, but I do recall seeing regular "marshall" style plywood cabs with '75s or something legit inside. They also made MDF cabs with generic speakers.

Any Harkte guitar cab is sorta rare, but typically well made and legit. No different then say, a PV cab or whatever.

Yeah I had this exact same cab. the GH412. It was only like $200-250 new. The speakers were "Celestion Designed Drivers" on the early models later changed to Special designed Hartke drivers. Either way they were generic speakers that tossed around the Celestion name to get people to buy it. The construction isn't bad but the handles are plastic and i wouldn't trust them for serious road use. Or maybe I would because I wouldn't care of this thing got damaged.

Re: Hartke guitar cabs?

looks kind of messed up in that picture. like the band used to gig while falling down stairs or something..

Re: Hartke guitar cabs?

Yeah, Like i said I would use it probably for playing out at some of the smaller seedier clubs. I wasn't totally impressed with the speakers but still worlds better then a stock behringer, which we also have in the practice space, if that says anything. I would say its a fair deal at $140-150. Its not a 1960a and its not a behringer....somewhere in the middle.

Re: Hartke guitar cabs?

I don't think I saw that picture the other day...

Honestly I've seen Harkte guitar cabs that were carpet covered ply, with metal grilles (like the bass cabs), metal handles and had legit Celestions in 'em. Being from Jersey myself (the plant was like 1/2 hour away) I've seen a lotta Harkte stuff... especially with working bands were they'd often give local players & even clubs gear direct at a tremendous discount.

Over the years they've made some really great, top-notch cabs & also plenty of cheaper stuff for SamAsh... aka Samson which distributes Harkte. I'm not sure they build guitar cabs anymore...

Its probably worth a roll for the right price. You could do worse...

Re: Hartke guitar cabs?

Hartke guitar cabs are pretty blah, Id easily put Behringer over them, and I dont even like those that much. The special designed Celestions are probably the Rocket series, which are crap crap crap. These amps would affect much on how do you play the guitar..

Now that you bumped this Kurt Daniel, I think it's time for a story.

I bought said cab. I gigged with it for a year. I then found a piece of paper inside the cab one day.

it said:"Property of James Marshall Hendrix".

I thought... :lmao:

just then, a delorean showed up and the doc comes out "it's your kids glenn!" I hop in the car and learn that in the year 3000, Skynet becomes it's own thing, and wages war on humanity. just then, Joe Satriani shows up and becomes the silver surfer right in front of my eyes. then, "for the love of god" by steve vai kicks on. wrong song. still, we blast off, back to 1955 and I learn that I have to have a child with a certain Marla Anne Hendrix. after a series of side plots and bad jokes ( "i can now investigate the other great mystery of life... true bypass!" ) I come to learn that Jimi is my son while he traveled to the future and met my mother, therefore we are dad and brother. Frother.

Not a day goes by that I don't think abotu Jimi and Marla, and the promise I made that I will always keep, that one perfect day on Gordon Street.
