Has anyone done a Red Devil in parallel or split?

These have been sitting on the shelf for too long. I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep it simple "Strat" wiring, or doing something more complex. Has anyone done a Red Devil in parallel, or split? Was it worthwhile? Save me some soldering.

not gonna save ya nothin here man.

i have a trio of red devils. the neck and middle are wired to a p/p pot to split them. the bridge is wired series/split/parallel. i like parallel better than split since there is less volume loss but i end up using all three settings. id prefer to have series/parallel on the neck and middle but cant do that with a p/p pot for two pups

absolutely. series is thick and meaty, parallel cleaner and brighter as youd expect but i find it very useful. split is thinner and lower output than parallel, i do find it useful in a live situation from time to time but its used much less than series or parallel.

I would think parallel would sound better, too, though I haven't tried it. If you wind up installing them, let us know how it is.

I will. A 6PDT switch would come in handy about now. :9:

Is this what you want to do?: switch both Neck and Middle at the same time, whether each is wired In Series with itself or In Parallel with itself? If yes, then that IS possible with a Fender S-1 switch/pot. As it's switch section is 4PDT.

I hadn't thought of that. I have an S-1 switch, and if use a Superswitch, I can use two sections of it to route neck or bridge wires to the S-1 switch so that I can switch all three.

i dont usually like the taper of the s1 switch which is why i avoid them but that isnt a bad idea
