Have any of you ever played the silver wound cryogenicaly treated pickups made by SD?
Has anyone here every played Zephyrs?

I had two guitars with Zephyrs. I liked them, but not '1000 bucks' liking them. I worked for SD for a few years, and saved up some credentials to purchase to sets from them. Loved it.
The pickups themselves are extremely clear, but the best comparison I know of that makes the feel and vibe make even one iota of sense, is the fishman fluence classics. The same clarity, note separation. The Zephyrs, however, are voiced completely differently and are, obviously, made much nicer. The bobbins, polepieces, everything, was a work of art. Fishmans aren't made that nicely.
The thing with the Zephyrs is that they sound so insanely clean and clear, that even with gain, they sound cleaner. Clearer. I could never get my sound out of it, and was plenty happy with my simple JB/Jazz set.
