The Super D has a very large ceramic magnet, and that accomodates the height of the allen poles. The poles do not penetrate the baseplate. There're no holes in the baseplate. So to replace the magnet with a standard A5, you'd either need a non ferrous filler strip underneath, or to drill large holes in the baseplate (larger than standard since the allen poles are full width slugs all the way down)
The Super D isn't that hot of a wind. The output comes from the magnet and the slugs. An A5 might be great, but also might basically produce a pickup that's not high output enough to scream, and not low enough to be warm and smooth. It may be a dud.

There's a reason I was asking, and it's weird, so feel free to....not read it.
I'm planning on 'making' a pickup that will sound like a Precision pickup.
I play VI-type instruments for bass primarally.
I figured step one would be to find similar specs, and a custom/unwind isn't in my budget/frustration-tolerance-level.
Since the SD has similar resistance, I'm starting there.
Then it's a matter of removing 6 of the poles(duckbucker-ize it) and wire it in series.
I suppose going a bit higher in resistance wouldn't be terrible, as there's less of the wire in each coil really 'working' for you.
Lower wouldn't be terrible, either, I don't mind a little more clarity.
I theoretically could build one out of a suckbucker and some flat A5 poles, but that's even more insane.

But i could be made longer and shorter.
An alnico cannot be produced in a free selectable size like ceramic magnets. There are certain relation between pole size (height) and distance (width) between the poles - otherwise it would loose its strength over the time.TheGZeus said:

Carvin has a pickup with a double-thick (1/4") Alnico 5 but they don't sell the magnet separately.
If you were willing to buy a bunch of them, Magnetic Hold would probably make you some. The made me some custom width rod (Strat) magnets.
