Has anyone tried both of these BKP Warpig MCP Solution

Re: Has anyone tried both of these BKP Warpig MCP Solution

I've heard it makes a good neck pickup.

I have used one once in a super heavy LP Studio, sounded pretty good, wasn't mine and that was 14 years ago, so...

Man, I was so pumped when i ordered mine, thought it was going to sound like, well, the Iron Man, but it wasn't nearly hot as I thought it would be, was trebly, and just not a very good bridge pickup imo. Certainly not worth the $125.00 I paid for it new.

Def not, no Gibson pickup is worth what they want for them. I can get one for $60, still might be too much? It's really been a long time since I played one, maybe I'll just get that mo joe off the forum bro and try that.

The Iommi pup is a frickin paradox. The one I have measures at 17k, but certainly doesn't sound or feel that hot. It's wickedly thick, but like Scottcrud said, it has an odd treble spike. It's really warm, but then has this....almost disjointed high end. I think it may be from it's design. It has 3 magnets in it. There is a small 7/8" square A2 under the center of the cover, then another A2 inside above the spacer/mounting bar and then a ceramic on the very back. I hear the way they are arranged somehow cancels phasing or something, which may contribute to it's "not as hot as you would think" feeling.

When I used them a few years ago with a 5150 and G12H-30s, it was actually REALLY nice. It needs an amp with a thick, but slightly loose grind. I couldnt get along with it when I played my Splawns or MKIII/MKIV.

If you are really interested in one, I have a chrome one for sale, just about brand new. It doesn't get along with this Les Paul that I have.
