Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

I received the Crazy 8 a couple of days ago. I have not decided which guitar I am going to put it in. It looks so nice that I may not even want to take it out of the box, especially when it's got the tech's initials and Seymour's signature on it. I wonder if any body has tried it out in a guitar and found out how it sounds.

A few guys have and have posted about it. You may just want to do a search.

I am not talking about just clips. I would like to know what do people think when they play it in a live gig. How it mixes with the rest of the band etc. It is different from just playing in the basement or the living room.

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

you have to wait dude! Many of us didn't get it ,and the ones who got it needs time to test it.:D

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

Yeah! I probably have to, especially when I want to know how it sounds in different guitars so that I can choose which guitar I'm going to put it in. I just can't wait. Arrrrrrrgh!!!

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

Try them in different guitars yourself. You have the power to do so, don't be lazy. If you get sick of it in say December, I'll buy it off you!

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

yeh dont be a slacker! Wire that puppy up in every guitar you have ,then YOU write the review

I just ordered mine today or Id tell you how in sounds in a mahogany slab

Peace!

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

I'd venture a guess that it will sound GREAT in a mahogany axe. I can hardly wait to test it in my semi-hollow Ibie.

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

maybe later. I'm quite happy with it in my SZ. I kinda live by the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach.
I hear that!
Does your SZ320 have a maple cap? My SZ520 does ,but I plan to drop the crazy8 in my all mahogany Epi LP first , If that aint broke I'll try it in my SZ(may end up there anyway..much better quality axe)

my SZ is a 2007 model (with black binding) so I don't believe that it has a maple cap. I think it's all mahogany with a rosewood fretboard.

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

We may have to get together and compare notes, Greg.

I am concerned that the C-8 might be a bit bright in my axe, though. Still, I AM trying it.

Re: Has anyone tried the Crazy 8 yet

I have a mahogany body guitar, but it is a 335, which is a semi hollow body and I have to fish everything through the "F" hole if I dicide to change the pickup. That's why I ask if any body had tried the Crazy 8. My Strats and Teles do not have pickguards for a humbucker, so I have to do some work there also if I want to put it in. I want to leave my SG and my Les Pauls alone for the time being because I am happy with their pickups right now. My be I should wait for a while and then ask again.
