Has Anyone Tried The New Cheapo Jackson Dinky 7 Strings???

View attachment 65485

I've been toying around with the idea of buying a 7 string recently. I'm not sure how much I'd use it but it would be kinda cool to have one around? I don't want to spend a lot of money on one until I know for sure that it's something that I'll like & actually use so I was thinking about buying one of these guys.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I'm not expecting a whole lot from a guitar that's $200 NEW, I'm sure the electronics are garbage and the playability won't be great either but I do want to know if I'll be able to get the overall feel of a 7 string out of it so I can decide whether I want to spend some serious cash on one eventually? I know it's probably a lot like buying a Epiphone L.P. Special 2 so I can test the waters before buying a Gibson L.P. Standard but I figure for $200 if it's not something I enjoy I can just give it away to one of the little "Metal Monkeys" in my neighborhood, if it turns out to be an ok guitar perhaps I'll toss some new pup's in & play it for a year or so until I can afford a better one? If anyone has bought or tried one I'd like to hear your thoughts....

Can't say I've tried them myself. Of the newer imports, all I've held in hand is an Indonesian KVMG (neckthrough, maple/ebony) and it's not a shabby guitar like you'd expect at that price and origin.
