ALL true metal heads have had a Metal Zone for their practice amp at one time or another.

Tone is great for bedroom but sucks at full volume imo.

I’ve noticed a trend among “metal” pedals. Not sure if that’s cynicism or knowing their market. Maybe the same thing.

Once again, the genres that use that tone, or maybe anti-tone, don't want anything "warm", "sweet" or anything like that. They want a tone that most find nasty, painful or otherwise irritating.
