Put your ear to your solidbody electric and play. sounds beautiful and unique. has anyone used a contact mic on an unplugged electric? i'm still gonna do it if you havent but hearing about it would be cool
I remember someone mentioned that he used two mics when he was recording, one on the speaker and one near the strings so that the sound became crunchier. I can't remember the name of the member but I THINK he has an Edwards Gold Top.
It did sound good though - more complex and it stood out.
Dean Markley used to make a Mike that would stick on the guitar. A friend of mine actually spent some time moving it around to find the "sweet" spot on his acoustic (a 00018 Martin). He installed it inside the guitar on the treble side behind the bridge plate and it was a great sounding guitar, plugged and unplugged. So the key is to experiment.
