Also long as current and chaging events exist, so do more songs.

As far as instruments go— the pallet of hamonies available is massive. And if you think about it, each note is divisions of time. Dividing time seems infinite.

the melodies are infinite. The good melodies that the mind can perceive as good are finite, and I believe all those have already been written.
BUT, music depends on also on the time and place frame. What is unknown now, maybe was known at a different time and different continent. Take SOAD for example, they brought middle eastern music to the rock scene. It seemed great and it was, but this doesnt mean that the melodies were discovered out of nothing.

Maybe to the masses (which I also disagree with), but definitely not to rock music.

that's how I see it anyway. There is a difference between copying melodies from 10000 km away and composing/reproducing based on what you heard as a kid. That's why I said this about SOAD.
