Last week I came up with a wiring for my fretless jazz bass that I had not seen before. Please, tell me what are your thoughts on it.
First of all, I wired the 2 pickups in series, so they work as a humbucker. Then I wired a volume pot(I dont know if I should call it master volume or just volume), a regular tone pot(Using a .47 cap, I think) and a passive bass cut(With an 202 capacitor, wired like the g&l PTB). It sounds pretty nice for me, fat and warm, and when playing with overdrive the bass cut makes a huge difference in dynamics. The pots are Alpha 500k, and I use rotosound flatwoud strings. Everything is passive and the pickups are the ones that came with the bass.
What do you think? How would you improve it? Do you think that I should get a fretted jazz bass and do it again?(I think YES)
Thank you all!!
(Should I have posted this on the bass section? Does the pickup stuff involve wiring?)
