Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

Nice! I love the JamMan. I've yet to use the "sync" feature, but I'm really into the idea of one loop pedal controlling all the band's looping.

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

I'm thinking I need something like that to do quick riffs to solo over. I'm getting tired of soloing with nothing in the background (too involved to set up a mic, or record to a device) and I think it would build up my playing-in-key skills, and harmonizing.

Would such a device be good for this type of thing?

Wouldn't the looped riff and the solos get muddled overtop of one another out of the same amp/cab?

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

All you would have to do is run the loop signal out of one side, and the lead out of the other. The ideal solution for a three piece that wants to sound more like a four piece. If the guitarist can get used to it.

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

I like loopers because they teach you real quick how hard it is to play on something. I do not have one at the moment but the theme post unit is a good choice. I've never tried using one in a band other than atmospheric type tones. Seems like would drive a drummer batty.

Have fun Ace! That's a great gateway looper! ;)

Russian Circles incorporate an Akai Headrush for live reproduction of their albums. Let's just say the first time I witnessed it live I was blown away in amazement.

Whaddaya mean "gone"? :fingersx:

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

I picked up a TC mini looper a year or so ago. I need to use it more.

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

I swear, this little pedal has inspired a lot of good things. I use it in my teaching studio, mostly for me to practice with. It isn't meant to be a full-function looper pedal, and that is fine by me.

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

I went with this over the ditto for the lights and the extended play time.

I'm gonna use it for my pentatonic thing to throw down some basic rhythm and them solo over.

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

Yeah, I think it is better than the Ditto. It is stereo too, if you ever need that. Easy to turn the knob with your foot, too.

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

Congrats! I've nearly bought one several times but just always decided against it...need to just pull the trigger on it.

Enjoy!

Re: Have I gone loopy or something?

For the small 'practice' loopers, this Jamman has got the intuition thing down. I wouldn't gig with it (double pressing to erase is sort of a pain, and no expression pedal control of volume), but for what it does do, it does really well.

I expect I'll put it on the acoustic board. It would work for ME for solo.

Dave of course, would probably feel limited by Geddy Lee's setup.

Haven't messed with it much. But you'll see some stuff with it soon.

Just pull the trigger. No regrets period!
