What "specs" make a pickup what it is?

Say the impedance, or the amount of windings. I have some pickups that are thick and thin, physically. what about magnet type, etc

So generally speaking what does impedance, windings, magnet type and thickness get you? Thanks

Seriously though, for a question like this, go to the main page, go to "support",
and click on the Seymour's Q & A. Its quite a bit of reading,
but you can just skim for the relative topics.

You'll pretty much be a "pup wizard" once you read it all.

Plain and simple, that's 100% correct, the pup is a combination of all of those traits, and in the case of passive pups, there are limitations of inter -dependency between resistance, impedance, inductance, capacitance, magnetic field strength, and focus spread; then the coil shapes themselves ...yeah like Artie said, hit the FAQ and other tech areas of the main site.
