Have you guys ever used guitar cable for speakers instead of speaker cable?

Re: Have you guys ever used guitar cable for speakers instead of speaker cable?

Do not use guitar cables for speakers. They have much higher capacitance which can cause the amp to oscillate and blow it up.

And IMO, lamp cord sucks. It's made from the dirtiest copper around and kills the details in your tone. You don't have to spend a fortune, but buy a decent 16 gauge or better wire made for speakers. Even OFC (oxygen free copper) speaker wires are pretty cheap these days and will let the most tone through. It's not just about resistance.

+1.

Some power amps do not like capacitive loads.
