died Burbank CA USA January 29, 1992.

Not only was he a stand-up guy on the stand-up bass, he was an inspiration to a generation of musicians around the world,
as a composer of songs like “Hoochie Coochie Man", "Little Red Rooster", and "I Can't Quit You".
