HD500 - Jimi - Castles Made of Sand

[Wattage]

Working up a patch to use while working on Castles Made of Sand. Seems a little easier to figure these things out when you have the basic sounds, at least for me anyway. This started as a kind of generic Jimi patch I found on the Custom Tone site that had some pretty good stuff going for it and then I tweaked it quite a bit.

I think this is getting close but you know any constructive advice is always welcome. Trying to match up to Jimi isn't easy!

Very tasty. I like this so much better than others who get it more technically correct, but play it dry and souless!

The tone is there (easy part), but you gotta get more Jimi vibe (hard part).

Better than I could ever do, and that is one of my favorite Jimi tunes.

Yeah easily one of my fave Jimi tunes. I rarely ever play his stuff (or much of anyone else's for that matter) but I love his playing so I figured I ought to mess with it.

I only figured that out last night along with working on the patch so there are some things that aren't exactly right and the phrasing isn't dead on but I can't say that freaks me out. I just really liked poking around that tune and trying to get some of the more organic feel of that song into my head and hands, all the other stuff will come with it as I go along.

Trying to see & show some of what the HD500 can do and learn some new tricks.

Thanks. I was away last weekend and listening to a lot of Jimi, first time in quite a while and I just feel in love with his playing all over again. I had to at least make some headway on this tune because I had no idea how to play it and it is just amazing, we got robbed when he died, big time.

The first thing I thought of when I saw Sly Stone's homeless news was that it could have been Jimi, if he were still around..... Maybe Jimi was a genius for the right amount of time..... It's all speculation...
