Head convert or keep as combo ?

I'm considering converting my Rivera 45 Watt " Clubster " 1X12 combo into a head. The main reason I picked it up in the first place is because it weighs a mere 38 lbs as a combo, and rests with an angled front on the floor, for a perfect club / band practice amp. Now I find myself with an abundance of cabs - 2 1X12's, 1 2X12, and 2 4X12's - so I'm not really sure why bother hanging onto a combo. The combo will power the cabs without conversion so why bother converting, other than it becomes even lighter, travels father, and rips more easily than in it's native 1X12 habitat. All needless concerns I suppose. Any comments ?

don't do it! unless you spend almost the value of the amp on it, it's gonna turn out a bit rubbish - if it has spring reverb, i doubt you'll have room for it in a head!

considered a speaker swap?

Just take the chassis out and have someone build you a custom head enclosure. That way when all is said and done and IF you want to sell the amp, you can offer it as a package or sell them seperately on ebay.

I would not canabilize what you have. Very few can it right.

Even if you make the head cab larger for the tank, the reverb might not work properly in a head. This was what I was told.

I think Scott_F warned me about this, but I'm not 100% sure.

If reverb is not a factor, then Scott_F 's suggestion is the approach I would use.

Good Luck
