Headstock tuners

ehdwuld

A Ficus
Ok over the years I have had several Snark tuners
Recently the one I got 10 years ago refused to accept a new battery
So I purchased a red ST8 , three months ago
It's dead. I'm ticked.
To be fair, my Epi Florentine never liked those things anyways

I have a pedal tuner

My acoustics need this

So what's the best headstock tuner on the market?
Anyone?

Re: Headstock tuners

The Fender tuner app is one of the best tuners I've ever used. I have it loaded on my phone and tablet.

Re: Headstock tuners

thanks
I have a phone tuner app

I'll check out the planet waves tuner

I respect your opinion Dave

Re: Headstock tuners

I have a couple of the $4 Reverb clip-on tuners. My Korg Pitchblacks are more accurate, but the clip-ons work well enough. Well enough that I plan to get several more when I place another Reverb order.

reverb?
what is that a brand from reveb.com?

Re: Headstock tuners

I use the planet waves micro tuner as well, it should fit the Epi headstock just fine & remain camouflaged too.

Re: Headstock tuners

Ya know that playing with a tuner clipped on the headstock changes the sound of the guitar, right ? I clip one on, tune, and then take it off to play.

(*awaits derisive scorn from those whose hearing is not developed enough to hear the differences*)

Re: Headstock tuners

I've had some cheap Fender branded clip on tuners, they're awful. TC polytune clip is fantastic. I have tried several ap tuners, they all seem to pick up a lot of ambient noise. D'addario makes a nice one for acoustics that I use in my j45

Re: Headstock tuners

Daddarrio and Planet Waves are the same company, Right?

Let me look at the polytune

Re: Headstock tuners

I really like the TC Polytune Clip. The clamp mechanism is really solid, and the tuning action is great.

Re: Headstock tuners

I use the Planet Waves Micro NS and the one with the flip up screen. They both work well on mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar, and banjo. I want the soundhole tuner for my Eastman acoustic.

I have the TC PolyTune app on my iPhone, and dig it a lot. PanoTuner is very good, as well.

I also remove the tuner as soon as I'm done tuning.

Re: Headstock tuners

me too, although ive never played with one on there to notice if it changes the tone. i just assume it wont stay or or ill bang it into something

Re: Headstock tuners

I don't leave it on when I play as it tends to disappear by the end of the gig. But usually my pedalboard has a tuner, so I've just been using mine at home.
