heheh DS1 mods...

I changed around 20 or so components on my DS1. I broadened the input and output frequencies, changed the mid range a little and diminished the gain. Now I get very little gain until I turn it to around 9 o clock but the pedal sounds very smooth and almost like an old Fender cranked up. I was pretty stoked about it. I ABed it a while ago against a stock DS1 (before I finished it though) and it really was ENTIRELY different.

I think I'll get another stock one and try as many mods as I can, then mix and match until I get a great sounding distortion, simply enough. I hated this pedal at first but there's A LOT you can do by modding it and it's pretty fun!

Re: heheh DS1 mods...

Good to hear Pierre! I have owned a few DS-1's but never did any mods to 'em.

my current DS-1 is set up with the volume knob all the way up, the gain knob all the way down and the tone knob right in the middle. It's just the boost I'm lookin' for. I'm a fan of the stock DS-1, but I'm glad you can also now be a DS-1 fan even if it's modded.

Rock On ~ Kac
