hello, are SSL and APS pups compatable?

I bought an APS-2 bridge pup to go with my SSL-1 vintage RWRP middle and SSL-2 neck. Did I goof? thanks.

No way! I really like the APS-2 with the SSL-1 set. It gets rid of the shrill high end in the bridge (to me). You did good!

I tried that first, but the Bridge was a little weak for me. I swapped the Neck and Bridge (SSL-1 in the bridge, APS-1 in the neck) and it’s great.

The only single coil strat I have, and like the sound of, is my Ash/Maple Board strat with SSL-1 bridge and APS-1 middle and bridge. Great sounding strat tones. The only thing I would do differently is have them all be the flat pole piece -2 models rather than the staggered -1 models.

You picked great pickups.

Jeff thanks for the comment. my neck/bridge are flat, middle RWRP is staggard. i play x-lite strings EB 2255's hence the reason for flat. prolly would have gone flat in the middle also, but didnt seem as critical to me at the time.

thanks to all you guys for your wisdom. SD forums are tops in my book for tech help. their products speak for themselves. off to solder the weekend away.

I agree that the middle position having vintage staggered poles is not as big an issue as the neck and bridge. Don't forget to come back and tell us how the new setup sounds and works for you. We're junkies for feedback!
