Hello everyone. I didn't see a board for posting intros but my name is Josh. I've been playing guitar for about 5 years now and I've been a lurker on the forum. I'm 23 y/o and I live in Georgia. This seems like a very cool forum.
My gear:
Line 6 Flextone III XL (currently has ****ty celestion lead 80 speakers in it... I'm going to be replacing them with eminences soon)
Fender HM strat HSS bright white (MIJ I believe)
Basswood (maybe alder?) body
Maple neck/fingerboard 24 fret
Kahler spyder trem w/ locking nut
I got it used at a local sam ash fairly recently because it has an amazing feeling neck on it and the fingerboard is a bit worn but in a very mojo kinda way. It looks n feels unbelievable. Very thin, flat, and fast.
I settled on a PATB-1 for the bridge of the strat, I'm going to rip out the middle single coil, and put a PA-STK1n in the neck. I play a lot of rock and alternative (lots of 90s stuff). I'm definitely more of a rhythm player than lead... which is partly what lead me to Seymour Duncan... it seems like Dimarzio only really focuses on lead playing. My strat came with a DMZ Super 3 in the bridge and it really wasn't my cup of tea. I'm wondering what you guys think of this pup/wood combo for me. I haven't wired them in yet.
Also, what pot / cap values do you think I should be looking at?
Thanks guys! I'm psyked!
