Hello people,

I am new to the Duncan Forums. I post on the Dean forums, but I have a question that I kind of feel strange asking over at the Dean site. I recently got a Dean import Cadillac and I love the feel of this guitar, but the pickups leave a lot to be desired. I believe they are supposed to be Duncan Designed (I know this means Korean mass produced and not true Seymours), but they lack depth of feeling. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions (or may have changed pickups on such a guitar) what would be a good replacement set. I was thinking the Hot Rodded Humbucker Pickup set SH2N and an SH4. I like to play blues, hard rock and heavy metal.

Hey thanks for any information/suggestions you can give me on this. Look forward to reading some posts here.

Re: Hello

welcome to the forum!!

the jb/jazz combo is a great one that will cover those styles fine

Re: Hello

jeremy beat me to it....welcome nonetheless hahaha....well, the hot rodded set can pretty much tackle anything but maybe you'll want to try some more pickups or somthin just to be sure

Re: Hello

Hey, I'm new here myself, but I just did a guitar with a 59 in the neck position and a SH4 at the bridge, 3 way switch. Man, a great combo. the neck sounds warmer, sweet, smooth, (I'm sure there are more words to describe this) and the SH4 sounds crunchier, meaner. Using a 3-way switch, the middle sounds great. But, I keep finding myself toggling to the neck pickup. No hum, just perfection.

I have a new cheapie guitar coming in Tuesday that supposedly has SD designed pickups. I have a feeling I'll be pulling those and replacing with yet another style of real SD pickup.

Re: Hello

Just what are the Dunc Designed's in the Caddy these days? 59's?

Custom/PG for me in the Caddy!

Yup, Custom/PG will most likely be more agreeable in that axe than the JB/Jazz. The JB typically likes superstrats and such.
