Someone has to help me!!!!!!!

Recently I've been seriously GASing for a 12 string acoustic... they just sound so cool!

Please come up with arguments to convince me that they're just not worth it.

I'll start:

1. String changes are a beeeeeatch.

2. I'd get tired of it after a while...

I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!! :smack: :blackeye: :yell: :yell:

3. think of all the other stuff you could buy with the money you saved up. (Ex. Pedals and pedals galore)

They're great to have. It's not that bad changing the strings on them. You won't get tired of it. They sound great. Oops, I was supposed to talk you out of one.

Re: Help!!!! 12 string GAS!!!!!

The Rainsong 12 string is killer ...
er, I mean -- 12 strings are so not metal!!!

Re: Help!!!! 12 string GAS!!!!!

Do yourself a favor......... Don't buy one. OK that was my lame attempt of talking you out of one. FWIW IMO the best 12's are made by Guild. Guild has a better bracing pattern than most others and this allows you to keep and play the guitar at A440. Many other brands reccomend you tune the guitar down to minimize the amount of strain on the bridge. I have worked on and replaced many bridges that have pulled off of the tops because of the tension! If you do decide to buy one and again I am recommending that you Don't...... Buy a Guild. I prefer the Mahogony Jumbo. It has a HUGE sound and is clear at the same time. Great Guitar.... But don;t buy it you will hate it........ In fact go buy one and send it to me.... I will hate it too!!

Re: Help!!!! 12 string GAS!!!!!

I have a mid-line Fender 12-string, and it really hangs on the wall for most of the time... I use it when recording, and sometime during unplugged sets, but really, it's just more gear. Other than that........

I Love having it within my reach. There is nothing more brilliian than a tuned 12-string to provide rhythm. I have been practicing to add fingerstyle, but it always destroy my accuracy when I switch back to 6-string. So whateevr you do, don't do it......

Unless you want to.......

Re: Help!!!! 12 string GAS!!!!!

Just put a floating flyod rose on one with double lockers, then you will know the meaning of hard to change strings, hell, might as well buy another guitar instead of changing the strings.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!! :laugh2:

That would be a nightmare!!!!!

Although you've given me an idea.... making an electric 12 string guitar for metal... Imagine the power chords! :saeek: Just add a Dimebucker (RIP Dime... :blackeye: ) and you have total tonal mayhem!

Damn it, you guys are not helping! :smack:

Oh man, where were you twenty years ago when I had to keep taking my Gibson 12 string into the shop with neck problems! Maybe that's why it came tuned funny.

I've got blisters on my fingers!!!! Sorry, that was totally unrelated.
