*help* a little crack in my neck

Hi all,

lately, while cleaning my strat, i found a little crack i haven't recognized
before. It's placed at the bottom of the saddle, going straight to the head
and is about 4mm long.
I don't think it's gonna risk neck stability (direction slightly heading surface),
but in worse case the saddle may be partially unrestricted on this side of the
neck.

I think this should'nt be the case. It's an American Deluxe Strat, not
even a year old, not misstreated in any way - always stored standing
in the suitcase in a room with about 65% humidity.

Is this something i can reclaim at my dealer?
Is my assumption right, that this occurs, if the guy who put the strat
together didn't take care about a to close fit for the saddle.

Any input is welcome, i'm little doubtful due to lack of expirience with
guitars.

Sorry for eventually bad englich - i'm trying hard ;-)

hey martin ... help me understand your problem ...

when you say saddle ... do you mean the nut? (saddle refers to the bridge)

is the crack in the fingerboard .. behind the nut? thats sorta what I'm getting from your Q? but I'm not sure ...

hi orbiter,

oops - yep - i mean the 'thing' at the top of the fretboard.
i'll picture and post it - this also makes it easier to determine.

thx

regards,
Martin
