Re: Help! Bought a PEDALTRAIN PT-2 HC w/ VOODOO LAB PEDAL POWER II

I've always wondered why guys use the wah after the dirtbox. To me that sounds too thin. I run my Spina Modded Wah into the OCD with great results; I'm kinna stoked to hear about the Foxrox buffer tho as the high pitched screaming is somewhat unpleasant, esp when I'm playing loud.

Lew, I have to say that it's very cool that you're so open to new suggestions despite your level of knowledge and experience. Most of the guys I consider my mentors were not very open minded or flexible once they got a sound they liked, so good on ya.

Wow, very cool!

I've always put my wah before my fuzz and a few years ago you told me you did it the other way, so simply based on that I tried it...it is cool and does yeild a neat tone but after just a short time I went back to my old stand by of wah into fuzz and have never looked back.

I think thats just the way to go personally, glad you figured out something that you can use!

I spent all last week recording my solo CD. Never did get around to recording any electric stuff - spent the whole week doing solo acoustic guitar originals.

But the last day, Brad played me part of a session he did with this Hendrix junkie doing Voodoo Chile. It was a little over the top and his tone was a little to saturated but the guy's tone still knocked me out. I asked Brad how he got it and Brad wasn't sure - he remembered the guy using some boutique pedals but couldn't remember what.

Well guess what? I've got that super vowel like tone now.

It's very vowel like. A lot of "OW" to the tone.

Well - now we've got to get Gearjoneser to try it. He's the same as I was yesterday! LOL! Joe likes the fuzz going into the wah too.

We've got to get him to spend some time trying it the other way around with the fuzz after the wah.

Also, I've only tried this with the '69 and Vox Wah. Haven't tried it with any other wahs or fuzzes.

Took some getting used to but it was worth it! Instant Hendrix now that I know how to set it up just right.

If you ever want to sell that extra '69..... ;)

It really is a bit of a different thing...I prefer my Teese Picture wah these days with my AnalogMan modded Arbiter Fuzz Face so you and I are in a very similar tonal area. Im glad you dig it! When i hear abotu players like you that I trust and I know have a great ear and they are doing the smae thing Im doing it makes me feel like Im on the right track!

The squeeling and noise will get worse the higher gain the fuzz is so a buffer might be needed one day but if you don't need it then don't bother!

You probably know Mike doesn't make them anymore. To hard to find the right germanium transistors to get the tone he's after.

So when I saw one for sale I grabbed a second one.

But they do turn up on Ebay. You can find one if you're patient.

In fact, here's one for 99 cents: http://cgi.ebay.com/Fulltone-69-Fuz...14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

Good luck!
