Help choose a guitar.

Guys I am trying to decide on what to buy...my budget is gonna be around $600, give or take, and I am currently hung on the Dean Hardtail. I looked at a Malden Stiger, and a PRS Tremonti and liked both of them also. The Tremonti was a bit light for my taste though. Anyone have any suggestions....I would really like for it to have the coil splitting option but I don't guess it is totally required. Help me out guys.

Re: Help choose a guitar.

You have some great ideas right there.

PRS Tremonti SE is a great guitar for your budget.

Dean now makes different versions of their Hardtail series. I think it was called the Select series or something. I'm sure it's worth taking a look at.

If you like the feel of Schecters (I hate them, but I seem to be in the minority here), take a good look at those. Low prices for great quality and some of them come with a coil split. Sounds like it'll be perfect for you. Some also come with Duncans, so you know it has good tone :)

Re: Help choose a guitar.

I am not really a fan of the feel of a Schecter. I have found a SG for about 600 and have thought about it, but cannot split the coils. Is there a way to wire it so that I can split the coils? I have never done anything like that but I am sure that it can be done. Anyone?

Re: Help choose a guitar.

One more thing...has anyone heard of or played the Malden? I was in Mississippi Sat. and found one at a shop there. It felt pretty good, but I don't have any experience with the name.

Re: Help choose a guitar.

No one on this forum is allowed to have a Tremonti anything!!!

LOL ... j/k

You can get whatever you want, but if the endorsement $$ from this guitar means we may have to be subjected to another Creed album, I'm gonna come looking for you!

Re: Help choose a guitar.

they split up anyway :thankgod:

if you're looking at the 600 odd mark, i think for 700 you can have the C1 classic (schecter)

its actually a very impressive guitar for the money, the inlays may not be to your liking though.

Jb Jazz as standard.

it is a very defined, clear sounding guitar, with a pretty nice feel also to that price range

Re: Help choose a guitar.

I have looked at the Schecter before and for whatever reason it just didn't feel quite right to me...perhaps it was the setup or strings or something. I may revisit that one. As for another Creed album don't worry bout it, not gonna happen.

Re: Help choose a guitar.

same here. its a nice guitar that i want to like, very good value for money but the neck just isnt right for me. i think its narrower than im used to i think.
