Help Daddy Pick out his new look

Re: Help Daddy Pick out his new look

Congrats. So, you got the 50W version? If you got the 100W, you might expect complaints from people on the other side of the Columbia River. LOL

Yep, it's the 50W version. And I think you're right, from everything I've read, these are LOUD 50 Watters at that.

Cool Matt. Now that's the 3 channel with the clean channel, gear 2 & 3 footswitchable with a boost...right?

Oops, sorry Jeff, missed ya.

Not quite. It's the 50 Watt single-channel version of it's big brother, the Quick Rod. It's a single channel, so doesn't really have a dedicated "clean" channel, and my thinking is that it's not really what it was cut out to do anyway - it's a pissed off amp is how I've heard it described (probably pissed because it has no clean channel to get the ladies). It has the 3 hot rodded gears (plexi, 800 and super 800), with 2 OD settings for each gear if I understand correctly. However, the footswitch allows shifting gears between 1 and 2, OR 2 and 3 (but not 1 to 3), which it's big brother cannot do (I think). I guess without the clean channel, there's an extra switch lying around doing nothing on the foot pedal, so Scott made it a "channel" switcher for lack of better term.

It has the solo boost as well.

I debated for a long time (9 months to be exact) as to whether I could live without the clean channel. Finally, after exhaustive questioning of certain forum bros I decided that what else would I have to do with that cool little Line 6 lying around than to use it for cleans, and to run some probably pretty cool stereo options. After I thought about that for awhile I decided that between the two amps, I could probably have quite a variety of things available. But I always say this, and then just end up dirty 75-percent of the time anyway.
