Help Decide Which Pickguard

While I've decided to go with all humbuckers in my pewter-colored '90 American Standard Strat, I'm of a mixed mind about which color pickguard and if I should go with nickel-covered or open hums. Here are a few quick and dirty PhotoChop mashups of the options.

We are looking at silver pearl, white pearl or black pearl... and with open black humbuckers or with nickel-covered humbuckers. could also do a blend of open and covered, if anyone has any suggestions along those lines.

I love the black and silver pearls and have one of each, but I don't like any of the pearls on your guitar. I would do solid black pickguard with covers or solid white with PUs uncovered.

BUT, personally, I'd go for solid white w/ open.

Im going to throw a spanner in the works and put in a vote for only 2 pickups. Its been a winning tone formula for ever as far as sounds goes.
Now back to cosmetics:
All the pickguards look fine, but im with living dead. You should also consider plain white or black too. but here is a pic of my 91 strat when it had buckers in it, just for ****s and giggles:

I have to agree with the others so far, I don't really like any of the pearl options on that guitar. I'd go solid white with uncovered humbuggies.

Black anodized aluminum guard with brushed metal covers and brushed metal Tele-style dome knobs. That is a smooth and sexy color, and the pearl distracts from its awesomeness and makes it look cheesy IMO. The brushed black guard and covers will perfectly compliment the metallic, industrial look of the guitar.

Yeah dude, solid black would be my vote, anodized aluminum would be awesome, prolly not cheap.

I've got some black anodized, but I haven't tried cutting it yet, I don't know if I could do it without scratching it up, and the edges would still be shiny. I might be willing to try it out if you've got a template.

Pickguardian.com, Wdmusic.com (pickguards.com), Geaseygrove.com, Allparts.com and Terrapin.com all carry that paisley. I believe most of them can custom cut it for you too. There are a few others, but I don't remember them off the top of my head. That is the easiest paisley pattern to find in my experience.

Terrapin is probably your best bet in terms of price and customizing options.

i voted white pearl with covers. if the coils were white, i would have said no covers. i always think maple boards look better with white pearl pickguards.

Of those choices I'd go with silver pearl with black open.

If it were mine I'd lose the middle p'up and go with what GuitarDoc suggests.

a lot of people say the middle pickup is in the way, but my hands are so big, i hit the neck pickup anyway. lol i dont even play between the pickups.

I chose the white pearl with no covers but I also thin solid white with no covers would look good with the pewter color.
