Hello - first post here, been lurking on and off for a while.
I have an American Performer Tele Hum with the Double-Tap humbucker in the neck position. The pickup suddenly stopped working in humbucker mode - it was totally silent with the push/pull pot pushed down, working only in "single coil" mode with the pot in the up position.
I decided to get rid of the push/pull pot and just wire the humbucker as a plain old humbucker. I rarely use the single coil mode in the neck position anyway, and I prefer not to have unnecessary points of failure in the signal chain. I bought two new 500k CTS pots and a .022mf capacitor for the tone knob. I think I have the wires figured out:

- Black & Green: solder together
- White: cap off
- Bare wire: to ground on back of volume pot
- Red wire: to selector switch
