hi to all!
I've to install an EMG81 and a EMG 85 in my Ibanez rg550 (with pickguard).
These 2 pickups comes only with rings and input jack, so no cables, pots etc..
What i should buy to make these pickups ready to be installed?
I'm planning to buy:
2 of:

1 of:
http://guitarpartsdepot.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?LNG=en-US&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=EMG-12B

and 1 of (I think that is the volume/tone pots, or i'm wrong?):

it is enough or i need something more?
Thanks of all

Re: Help for EMG pickups

you only need to add a Stereo Jack and a pickup selector to your inventory and you are set.

Thanks for the answer
The jack and the rings are included with the pickups.
For the pickup selector can I use the one of my ibanez rg550 (5 positions) or i need a new one?

Re: Help for EMG pickups

yep, old will work with no probs
but 5 way is unuseable on two humbuckers i think without split, and you can't split the EMG 81/85
a 3 way pickup is in order i believe, electronically they are the same, you can run a wire between them and use them as a 3 way switch, but positions 2 and 4 will just be the same as 1 and 5 i think, not sure about that.

Are you buying the EMGs used? New they include pots and cables.

If the only problem is that the positions 2 and 4 are the same of the 1 and 5 so that's ok, i'll use my old selector!

Re: Help for EMG pickups

I've realized that i'll use only the 2 EMG (no central single coil) so maybe a 5 position switch is a bit too much for just 2 position.
Maybe i can buy a gibson style 3-way switch, i've only to modify the pickguard

Yep,you will need a 3-way,but get the Fender tele-style and it should fit without having to modify your pickguard.
