Hi there, newbie here with a where to start on tracking a wiring problem.
I have installed an sh-13 into my sons Gibson SG Special and did remove it and put the stocker back in but that was an easy rookie job with lots of internet diagrams ect to work off of.
My son traded his Gibson that he never played for an LTD EC 1000 That came with stock EMG's.
The owner swapped out the EMG's with an SD 59 in the bridge and he says an alnico 2 SD pickup in the neck.
Between him an what he called (a welder buddy) they replaced all the pots, input jack and selecter switch also.
The guitar was traded knowing the neck pickup was not working correctly with little to no output. So I took a quick look at the pots and found a red pickup wire barely hanging on by a thread on the tone pot along with a white pickup wire that had a good conection.
I took the red wire off and cleaned it up and soldered it back to that same ear on the tone pot....and now the bridge 59 pickup doesn't work.
Any idea where to start with this not so rookie type fix?
