Hi,

Last week I asked for advise about how to install a Hot rails in my J5 Telecaster since I modified and put a bigsby. The thing is that there is a lot of hum!! and I really don´t know how to get rid of it. I don´t know if it is a ground issue ( I didn´t see any ground wire when I removed the Fender enforcer that came with the guitar) Please help me, I have worked so hard modifying it and I would like everything to be perfect. Please be as specific as possible since I am an amateur in all this.

Thank you very much in advance.

Iker.

Re: Help!!!!! hot rails (hum)

Did you get the bridge ground connected as it should be?

The think is that I don´t know how the bridge ground should be connected. Could you explain me how to do it please? Thank you for your feedback

Re: Help!!!!! hot rails (hum)

Almost definitely a grounding issue. On your Vol. pot there should be a wire soldered to it that seems to go nowhere, But into a hole in the body some where. You'll need to locate that wire, And make sure it is in contact with your bridge. You may have to loosen the bridge and fish the wire thru. The make sure it is touching the bridge. No need to solder it on the bridge... just be sure it makes contact, Then tighten the bridge down on it.
