Help Identify this Pickup on Orville

Howdy Fellas,

I just got an Orville from Japan and was thinking of swapping at least the bridge pickup. The thing is that the neck pickup sounds very nice, much better than what I expected and now I want to find out more about it so I can find a good Seymour Duncan match for the bridge. I attached a picture of the neck pickup. All I know is that it has an N inside a circle carved in the base plate of the guitar and two rows of 6 holes. No brand, no nothing. It also looks as if somebody sanded the center of the plate. Anybody knows what this is? If so, do you know the average output, and what type of alnico this is? Thanks a lot!!! IMG_2965.jpg

That is something Asian. The sanded area is not deep enough to have ground out a stamped-in manufacturer's logo. If you like the sound of the stock pickup, continue to use it.

I've seen similar N markings on some Belcat pickups that came stock in a Chinese Jackson Dinky. That's a possibility.
