Help Identifying special Les Paul...

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

i don't see the brand name on it anywhere

it looks like my bathroom floor

i would spend my $200 somewhere else

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

Yeah, that's a guitar someone put together for themselves. I like stuff like that, but not that specific one. I'd really like to get a Warmoth Body and do something like a custom painting (by my beautiful wife) or a Van Halen kind of thing or something.

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

Looks like a Zemaitis copy. (Probably spelt that wrongly.) The best known user/owner of the brand is Ron Wood of The Faces and, later, The Rolling Stones.

Original pieces were hand made in England. Later, a Japanese outfit bought the rights to make accurate replicas.

A lot of work goes into those guitars. Two hundred bucks seems like a steal!

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

...what tonal properties does a porcelain tile laminate top impart on the guitar?

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

Maybe look into the brand that Funk mentioned, the headstock shape made me think of Samick though.
Not crazy about the mother of toilet seat myself.

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

Looks like a 200$ guitar trying to pass itself off as somehow equivalent to a 4000$ Zemaitis. Savings are going to have to be made somewhere, and it´s obviously not the bling.

Caveat Emptor.

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

I'm not gonna say I like it, but...it's definitely unique. I'd play it if it's convenient to see it in person. If it feels and sounds like $200 worth of guitar, forget what it looks like and go for it. Who knows. It might sound great. Unlikely, but it might.

Re: Help Identifying special Les Paul...

Reminds me a lot of a Godin Radiator:

. . . which you can also pick up used for a couple hundred . . .
