hey guys!

i put it in the bridge of my LP and....nothing.... no output.

the neck p'up (a 59) still works fine and according to the duncan diagram i have wired it correctly
what could be wrong??????????????

Re: help! invader not working

In order of probability:
1.) You didn’t connect the red & white leads together.
2.) You don’t have continuity between the green wire and ground.
3.) You shorted out the black wire to ground
4.) You’ve destroyed the volume potentiometer while soldering.
5.) Some other wiring mistake
6.) Defective pickup.

All problems can be easily determined with a cheap ohm-meter (multimeter)

If it was (1) there would still be sound. A very nice single coil type sound.
I know cos thats exactly the problem I made when I installed my Invaders. :approve:

Other than that, sorry cant help. :scratchch

No.
If the red and white wires are not connected (in a standard wire configuration) you will not have continuity between each coil.
If you heard a “single coil” sound, you must have grounded the white wire or the red / white combo.

Re: help! invader not working

thats great guys!!!

so i connected the red an white wires together (everyone point and laugh at me)

the pu'p is amazing and compliments the 59 amazingly. now the only thing is that my volum and tone knobs for the bridge p'up have been bypassed... the output from the invader is perfect and so is the output from the whole rythm circuit (tone/vol knobs/pickup) so what have i done this time?

i swear ive missed a little jumper somewhere or something.... but i dont want to bother rewiring the whole thing like i did my vintage.

Hmm, IIRC all I did was tape the red and white wires together, but they weren't bare or in any way electrically connected. So how come I got a sound from it?
