Help me as I try to redesign the lead guitar

hello, new memeber. Thanks for having me. I can use some help. I own a small YT channel where I review, mod, talk guitars, amps, gear etc. I'm doing a unique guitar build where I've taken a 25.5" scale kids toy bass and I'm turning it into a shredder with a unique wiring scheme. this is where I need help. I'm a wiring NOOB so I could use a diagram for a guitar with an on/off/on mini switch wired series/off/parallel, an Artec boost switch with 9 volt battery, and a tone pot/kill switch knob. NO VOLUME KNOB. The idea is all volume with quiet operation and maximum tone control in a lead guitar. You don't see a guitar wired like this often if at all so I can't find any diagrams or other info for ideas like this. I appreciate any and all input. Thanks in advance.

So you're cutting a new nut for a toy bass to make it a guitar? What guitar pickups are going to fit in those routes? Or are you routing out the whole guitar for 6-string hardware? (I don't know how you manage a YT channel modding guitars/gear if you're a NOOB.)

I've never used an Artec boost, but have you measured the control cavity to make sure all the parts you want plus a battery will fit? (e.g. kill switch tone, battery, Artec switch board, DPDT switch, etc.)

If you are doing a completely unique wiring scheme, then there won't be any wiring schematics to follow. You would have to look at parts of various diagrams and put one together. There are diagrams with tone kill switches, and I'm sure the Artec must come with some wiring instructions.

Series/split/parallel in this diagram would become series/off/parallel with an on/off/on switch.

I found your video by searching your name, I look forward to seeing the end result. I'm specifically interested in seeing how you handle the headstock

Thanks. The guitar needed a new neck because the nut on the bass neck is only 35.5mm wide. I bought an ibanez style neck off of ebay

*** " tone pot/kill switch" is to bypass the tone control or a kill switch built into the tone pot (p/p?)?"

It's a push/push tonepot/kill switch.

1- It only has a 35.5mm nut so I got a new neck.

2- One Hot Rail in a P90 to single coilconverter mounting ring

3- Nope

4- The modding part is new The rest isn't. I'm learning what I don't know as I go. There's more to a youtube channel than posting videos. It's also about connecting with people that watch by learning things they want to learn and sharing it with them and communicating with them via live streams.

5- Everything fits. It's all been in and out of the cavity and the battery is going in the neck pickup rout. It's been routed deeper to fit the battery and the pickup cover is being modded to accomodate the battery and fit in the space below the strings.

6- I had a feeling.

7- Thanks.

Thanks everyone!

The battery is going under the neck pup?!!

Then when the battery goes dead all you have to do is loosen the strings, take out the pickup, remove and replace the battery, put the pup back in, tighten the strings and bring them back up to pitch, wait a day or so for the neck to settle back in, retune the strings, adjust pup height, and you're good to go. Wow, what a clever idea. Works great when the battery goes dead at a gig.

And you say you mod guitars and amps online, but you don't know anything about wiring or modding. How does that work? Man! I could go online and teach how to mod the moon rover with my knowledge. Maybe even NASA would tune in to my YT channel.

Or you could ya know, change the battery every other time you change the strings and have no extra steps

I don't know soldering. There's more to modding than that. I have several guitars which I have built and had a friend solder for me. Maybe that's my way of supporting him and his business. I also work full time and run 2 YT channels by myself as a hobby and don't always have time to learn new things. Do you have an issue with me and my channel? or do you want to help? There's a lot you don't know like how the battery only needs to be changed every 3000 hours and as the GuitarDoc you should know that strings need to be changed more often than that. Or how about how this has been considered a creative solution to a limited space problem or about how this build is being done because it was voted on by my viewers. Or about how this could all be a proof of concept for a more perfect guitar we will be building down the road. or about how this is about taking something and making something else with what you have and being creative with what you're given. Or about how I already considered the issues you bring up sarcastically. Don't quit your day job stephen Hawking. And maybe I live in a small apartment where I don't have the space for things like a table router. And maybe I have reasons for doing this project this way so you should keep your mouth shut next time. Thanks for nothing. GuitarDoc... LOL, you're just an a$$. You didn't even check my videos to find out anything. You just assumed I was stupid and started trashing me and what i'm doing. You're an idiot. Go away and stay away. I have no interest in anything you could possibly have to say You ignorant a$$

Apologies to admins but this guy deserves it.

I don't see any innovation in putting a battery under a pickup, it's totally impractical and awkward. Change the battery 3-4 times and you won't be able to put the pickup ring screws in the wood anymore. You should route a place for the battery in the body or at least make it fit in the control cavity.

I will never buy such a guitar, and I'm dealing with batteries in my basses and guitars for the last 35 years...

This guitar isn't going too be for retail sale. it's for a youtube video. it's being done this way for reasons other than building a perfect guitar. It's also a tiny bodied guitar with no room for any more routing so this is a creative solution. You don't seem to get that this is a make due situation. I don't have the time or the tools to rout a new cavity in this situation and this isn't about turning this into a perfect guitar. It's a group youtube project voted on by my viewers. THEY CHOSE THIS PROJECT AS IT IS. why do you think this is supposed to be a regular guitar build? It's supposedto be entertaining and engaging which it is because they chose this. But you know what? You don't need to know this? CAN WE PLEASE GET BACK TO JUST HELPING ME WITH THE SCHEMATIC? Never mind. I'm sorry I ever thought I could ask for help. At least I now know that when they have free time the same people that make Facebook groups a nightmare come here.

ive never used an artec boost. the series/parallel is easy, as is the kill switch, but it seems redundant if you have an off position on the dpdt switch. do you mean a tone bypass switch?

if you do get the diagram you need, you should totally give credit to the person who does it for ya on your channel

I understand the battery placement isn't something you came here asking about. If you're absolutely set on having it below the pickup, and you have the space routed for it, what about either 1) making it removable from the back with a battery box or 2) using one of those Fishman rechargeable batteries, in which case you'd just need a small hole somewhere for the charging port?

NOTE: I didn't show the string bridge ground, because everyone knows that's a given, you have to ground the bridge under the strings.

Come to think of it, not sure why you would need a tone killswitch if you're using an on-off-on series/parallel switch. It's going to make no sound in the off position anyway. A momentary push tone kill switch is ergonomically better. You would be better off with an on-on DPDT switch for series/parallel IMO.
